With so many delectable baked goods available in League City, it’s hard to choose which bakery to visit. So, we asked our followers on social media to tell us their favorites, and we threw in a few of our own. Here ’s what we came up. Regardless of where you end up, your guaranteed to find a yummy treat.
From organic, gluten free, and vegan faux Oreos to grain free “pea-nutter” butter cookies, Renee Bennet shared her love of Natural Living Organic Co-op and Café located in League City’s Historic District. This local café is dedicated to organic, GMO free options for our daily diets.
Speaking of healthy goodies, two area bakeries have really captured local attention with tasty and innovative Keto offerings. Let’s be completely honest, not all keto recipes are things to dream of. But the baker’s at Cupcake Cachet and Marina’s Bakery have captured the flavor and taste that live up to the hype. From Cupcake Cachet’s Keto Cupcakes to Marina’s Keto breads, you just have to give these a try.
With so many donut shops, it’s hard to choose just one, but I have to give a shout out to the original League City Shipley Donuts and Bonnie’s Donuts, both located at FM 518 but on either side of I-45. Shipley’s, located in Historic League City has been in the hands of the same owners for more than 40 years, while Bonnie’s Donuts – a relative newcomer under the ownership of Natalie Chun – is creating a unique niche in the donut market with her lettered-shaped pastries that have become popular at community events, birthday parties, and other special occasions.
And when it comes to favorite Czech pastries, the Kolache Bakery, located on FM 518 in League City’s Historic District, is my personal favorite. The soft yeast pastry just melts your mouth. Whether you order the traditional fruit or cream cheese filled pastry or a Texas kolache, “klobasniky” filled with different combinations of sausage, cheese, and jalapenos you won’t be disappointed. And who can forget their cinnamon rolls!
Another hidden gem in League City’s Historic District is Craved Creations which specializes in custom 3D cakes, cookies, and cupcakes with their popular eggless cookie dough added to the top.
A self-appointed foodie and long-time resident recommended trying the Whoppie Pies in various flavors, fresh cannoli, and macarons at Cakes by Jula. Their location next to Pierogi Queen makes for a memorable combination for lunch. While Jula and her team specialize and cakes for every occasion it’s not the only thing in the bakery that tastes as good as it looks.
Another local bakery specializing in wedding, birthday, and specialty cakes located in South Shore Harbour area, is the Fiona Bakery. This family-owned bakery, tucked away in the small strip center, is making a name for themselves among brides with their beautifully-designed and delicious cakes.
